OPERATIONAL REVIEWS
Cost Cutting
One of the most common assignments is the evaluation of an operation
for the purpose of reducing costs. The most effective means to accomplish
this goal are by changing methods of operation and industrial engineered
studies of individual jobs. Our experience has shown that implementable
savings generally range from five to ten times the cost of the project.
Considerable cost can also be saved in the arenas of purchasing, equipment
maintenance, equipment/facility specifications, facility layout and
racking, and safety/sanitation. We have experts in all areas.
Implicit in the discussion of cost control is the subject of productivity. There are many
means by which productivity can be effectively increased in a defendable manner. They
range from detailed industrial engineered studies to simple but effective job observations. In most instances it takes an outside consultant to question long held methods and procedures that resident management takes for granted.
Organizational Structure
Improving operations can also involve organizational restructuring.
Are the correct numbers of management personnel in place and managing
effectively? Is the reporting structure and communications conducive
to efficient control? Does management feel they have the tools to perform
this job? Do they "really" know what is expected of them? Are their job
goals tied to the company's overall goals? These are all very important questions
that we address.
