Often consultant are not called until a situation has deteriorated
to crisis or near-crisis proportions. At this point companies are in
danger of losing customers or going out of business. At this point consultants
must be able to immediately perceive where the problems exist and present
short-term practical solutions to stabilize conditions and pragmatic
long-term solutions to turn the tide. This is no time for long drawn-out
strategy sessions with time consuming charts and graphs, these can come
later. At this point, professional teamwork and communications emphasizing
targeted actions are needed.
